Acuren has been serving the specific inspection needs of the rail industry for more than 40 years. Our services include nondestructive testing during manufacture of new railcars and rail components, along with services during operations and repairs. We are familiar with the unique codes and regulations of the rail industry, including DOT in the US and Transport Canada, and we’re constantly innovating to create enhanced testing procedures that ensure optimum quality and safety.

For one large railcar OEM, we’ve established teams that work inside their manufacturing facilities to streamline radiography workflows within the overall manufacturing process. We’ve also innovated to develop advanced ultrasonic inspection methods to identify flaws hidden deep within castings that will be machined into rail axles. For a leading rail component manufacturer, we engineered a special Linear Accelerator radiography source and shooting bay to confidently inspect their heavy castings.
