Increase awareness of the relevant codes, legislation, regulations, and good practices essential for field-based pipeline and facility inspectors and construction supervisors.
Increase awareness of the relevant codes, legislation, regulations, and good practices essential for field-based pipeline and facility inspectors and construction supervisors. The content is based on the CAPP Guide, Competency Assessment for Upstream Oil and Gas Pipeline Installation Inspectors (September 2009), the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations of Alberta, CSA Z662, CSA B51, ASME B31.3, and OHS. While primarily focused on Alberta requirements, some content relevant to British Columbia and Saskatchewan jurisdictions is included. The seminar emphasizes the role of the inspector/supervisor and provides a basic understanding of the various code and regulatory requirements necessary for the inspector to fulfill their role.
Attendees with a basic knowledge of facility & pipeline construction will benefit the most from this seminar. The intent is to supplement and/or refresh knowledge to further increase the level of competency held by attendees. Course materials will be provided to all participants. Attendees will benefit from bringing a valid copy of the B31.3 code and CSA Z662 standard to the course but it is not mandatory.
Acuren’s expert instructors provide many years of combined hands-on field-based experience relevant to the design, fabrication, and operation of pipelines, facilities, and pressure equipment. Their experience includes specializations in integrity management, failure investigation/analysis, material sciences, standards, jurisdictional requirements, industry best practices, industry code development, and competency programs. As a result, seminars go beyond a basic awareness of the codes of construction—attendees also increase their competencies in technical and practical areas.
