Mr. Mark Tanner, PE serves as a Senior Principal Engineer at Acuren. He received his BS and MS degrees from Texas A&M University. Mark is responsible for failure/forensic analyses, mechanical analyses, and metallurgical examinations on a variety of industrial equipment. He also conducts on-site investigations for in-service failures. Mark has coordinated more than 400 failure analyses and been a technical reviewer in well over 2,200 failure analyses in his career. He has traveled to fourteen different countries on five continents performing his work. Over the last 20 years he has primarily been involved in large failure investigations that require extensive on-site investigation and often reconstruction of the failed components to determine the origin of failure. His most notable large investigation was working with the Columbia Accident Investigation Board at Kennedy Space Center as their on-site failure analyst examining debris at the reconstruction hangar.
