Blade Repair Technician
Description:Acuren Wind is a leading provider of Wind Turbine Rotor Blade Inspection, Maintenance, and Services in North America. Acuren Wind Inc. is recruiting for a Blade Repair Technician I's to support projects across Canada. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 years+ experience working as an inspection technician for Wind Farms but is not required. Acuren Wind offers daily Per Diem, accommodations, transportation/flights, benefit eligibility, and the possibility of career growth and advancement.
Responsibilities:- Perform structural internal and external fiberglass repairs, ensuring repairs are completed to Acuren Wind quality standards and work flow is organized
- Liaising with wind farm owners on behalf of Acuren Wind.
- Operation of wind turbine including safe usage of the hoisting equipment, LOTO and Confined Space Permits
- Work as a member of the team and proven team-oriented, safety first approach.
- Interpret Work Instructions and Reference material related to repairs and materials
- Documenting repair and inspection findings Inspection of composite rotor blades interior and exterior.
- Operate suspended platform (training provided)
- Mechanical and technical skillset
- 1+ years of experience performing interior and exterior structural fiberglass repairs, ensuring repairs are completed to quality standards, and coordinating up-tower repair teams is preferred.
- In lieu of experience, Mechanical/Technical skill set OR a wind certification or diploma from an accredited school
- Preference will be given to candidates with advanced competencies with Internal / External Structural repairs. Knowledge and skills involving both resin types and multiple aerial access platform types, including tool organization, blade setup for multiple repairs.
- Ability to demonstrate and teach others
- Ability to work in remote locations for extended periods of time in variable climates and environments.
- Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as required
- Strong math and computer skills, including MS Office Programs
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide solutions
- Comfortable walking over rough/slippery terrain as experienced on heavy construction sites
- Climb a 100m/330ft vertical ladder, multiple times per day, with up to 15kgs/30lbs of additional weight.
- Bend, kneel, climb and squat with full range of motion and for prolonged periods of time
- Demonstrate effective hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
- Lift up to 25kgs/50lbs unassisted (on occasion up to 35kgs/75lbs)
- Operate hand tools
- Stand for prolonged periods of time
- Work around and with composite materials
- Capable of working in adverse and extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces
- Fall Protection/Working from Heights

Rope Technician
Description: Position Summary:Acuren Wind is looking for a Rope Access Level II Technician for support with several projects in the Ontario area.
The Rope Access Level II Certified Technician is responsible for carrying out duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner as assigned by the Rope Access Technician Supervisor.
Responsibilities:- Have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques
- Be able to demonstrate all the skills and knowledge required of Level III Rope Access Technician
- Assist other technicians as required
- Ensure operational safety of all equipment
- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
- Interpret radiographs
- Organize and report test results
- Perform specialized inspections
- May instruct and supervise others
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
- Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers.
