Acuren Director of Technical Systems Michael Shallis receives API “10 Years of Service Recognition Award”

Acuren Director of Technical Systems Michael Shallis receives API “10 Years of Service Recognition Award” for contributions to API’s standardization program.

Washington, DC October 22, 2009 – The American Petroleum Institute (API) announced today that Acuren Director of Technical Systems Michael Shallis is the recipient of the “10 Years of Service Recognition Award” for his role as a key contributor to API’s standardization program.  According to API Director of Standards, David Miller, PE, F.ASCE, API selected Mr. Shallis from more than 400 members for his “impressive track record of achievement” and “invaluable service.”  Mr. Shallis has been instrumental in securing state and federal adoption of close to 200 standards and recommended practices.

“We were thrilled to hear that Michael was being honored for his outstanding work with API,” commented Frank Forte, Vice President of Marketing for Rockwood, Acuren’s parent company.  “Michael has devoted over a decade of service to API.  He tirelessly lends his experience and expertise to ensure a strong and safe oil and natural gas industry.”

An employee of Acuren for thirteen years, Mr. Shallis will be honored at the upcoming 2009 Fall Refining and Equipment Standards Meeting in Dallas, Texas in November.
