Our efforts involve approximately one hundred full-time technicians doing nondestructive testing supported by on-site project management. Crews rotate every two or three weeks with all work ultimately overseen by our Anchorage office. Acuren reports directly to the Corrosion, Inspection, & Chemicals group within BP Exploration Alaska. The services provided by Acuren include several nondestructive testing technologies; largely those using ultrasonic and radiographic principles. The Acuren companies do not provide pigging, smart pigging, chemical inhibition, or maintenance services. Recently, at BP’s request, Acuren augmented its full-time work force with additional inspection personnel from its lower 48 and Canadian operations. The crews are working on a series of focused projects, under the direction of BP. Per Tal Pizzey, Acuren VP Operations “We enjoy an active and ongoing relationship with BP with over 100,000 inspection locations evaluated annually. With the recent requirement for additional inspection work our company has responded diligently to provide personnel and equipment in a timely manner. Similar to our collective effort in support of clients impacted by the Hurricanes last fall, several Acuren offices have contributed to this project. Our employees have performed extremely well and we are proud of the support we have been able to provide. Our North Slope team exhibits a solid work ethic without compromise to a strong culture of safety and quality excellence.” Acuren has substantial experience in pipeline inspection work, both as part of new construction and for in-situ maintenance support. Acuren clients include many of the largest oil and gas pipeline and oil processing companies. Industrial inspection and materials engineering services are provided to the oil & gas, pipeline, chemical, pulp & paper, power, automotive, and aircraft industries.
